My Little Maria was formed when two mothers turned their passion for people, their acumen for business and their love of beauty into an entrepreneurial venture. Jamille grew up in the United States and has enjoyed a successful career in both the corporate consulting and nonprofit sectors. Regina grew up in Mexico and has led successful business and entrepreneurial ventures in her home country. Now they are both raising their children in Austin, Texas — a vibrant, prosperous community, but one facing a growing need to support women and children experiencing crisis situations from homelessness to domestic violence.

That crisis served as a catalyst for both women to come together, combine their expertise, resources and experiences, and create a venture that would allow them to contribute to their community –on both sides of the border. In Mexico, Regina had become enamored with the creativity and craftsmanship of the artisans who embroider, stitch and create clothing in the artisan communities around Mexico. In the U.S., Jamille has seen a growing community of women interested in being conscience consumers who enjoy beautiful things, but also want their dollars to benefit others.

Thus, My Little Maria was born.

My Little Maria infuses the craftsmanship of Mexican artisans with a high fashion sensibility to deliver unique and timeless treasures to customers. In Mexico, the artisans are paid a fair wage, and a portion of proceeds are re-invested into the artisan community, providing resources for training, supplies and tools to advance their craft. In the U.S., My Little Maria matches every purchase with a contribution to a non profit that provides services to women and children in need.

One piece of clothing purchased from My Little Maria touches all of these different communities. And each piece is woven together with the stories of the women who crafted it and a passion for the women whose lives it will impact.

We want to help empower women with the confidence that they can pursue their dreams and the resources to achieve them.

We are proud that together we can make a positive impact both here locally and with our neighbors and partners in Mexico. Please see below some of the initiatives we support here locally and click to learn more about their incredible missions supporting women and children.

My Little Maria is working hand to hand with artisans in different communities of Mexico. Empowering women around the different communities, listening to their needs and learning about their beautiful traditions. Every day we are working to expand our hearts and borders to help communities on both sides.
